My book may have a fictional family but the history is real. You will learn what happened in 1954 in Toronto, where land was flooded and people lost their homes and some their lives, because housing was scarce after World War 2 so developers built anywhere and everywhere. Streets were overcome with water and people woke at night from their houses shaking off the ground they sat on. The Holland Marsh crops were swamped creating food issues. Let’s review this lesson and not make this mistake again. We need to tell the Ontario government to say no to developers before we face such a catastrophe again. Housing density can be created safely.. not this way.
